Full Name: Bruce Kirkland (The Commonwealth of Australia).

Nick Name(s): “Not tha’ I’m aware of mate!” ‘Australia’, I guess. Bruce has long been known as ‘The Lucky Country’. This is not surprising when you learn he is the world’s largest iron ore exporter and largest producer of bauxite and alumina. He also has the world’s largest deposits of silver, zinc, zircon and easily extracted uranium (over 40% of world resources) and a big exporter of gold.

Gender: Male... Last time I checked.

Age: He appears to be about 19, but is technically 17 years old. His country age is difficult to tell seeing he was inhabited long before he signed his Constitution 1901. Even though he’s pretty young, he’s good at keeping peace… He hasn’t even had a Civil War.

Birthday/Year: January 1. He wrote his first Constitution on January 1, 1901, departing all political control away from the UK, but of course he was alive a while before then. People always forget his birthday seeing it’s over-shadowed by New Year’s. Everyone always seems to think it’s on January 26th, but that’s Australia day. The people that remember are the following: Tristan, Ayra, Jane (She just pretends to forget about it), and Evie.

Sexual Preference: Bisexual… but prefers girls.

Boyfriend/Girlfriend: Single. (You can change that if you want, I'm a pairing Omnivor so I'm open for everything, even incest as long as it's not Tristan/Wales because that would be weird or Arthur/England... You can TRY, but it will be difficult.)

Hair: Short auburn/brown hair with two ahoges.

Eyes: Leaf/Pale green.

Height: 178 cm. The size of the country is 7,687,000 Km2 (about 94 times the size of Ireland).

Weight/Body Structure/Physical Faults: He’s pretty fit, has to be with all the crocodile wrestling, swimming/surfing and hiking. He has a weight on around 70 kg, give and take a few. He has only ONE scar on his entire body, which would be the bridge of his nose from the Japanese Bombing of Darwin, he wears a band-aid over it because it isn’t healed yet.

Appearance: He has thick eyebrows resembling Arthur's, due to being his brother and tanned skin from being outdoors in the sun so much.

Temperament: He doesn’t get angry easily, but if he does your drink WILL be poisoned and you will most likely find a crocodile in your bed.

Race: Nation. (Country/Continent/Island) He is the only nation that governs a whole continent.

Clothing: He often wears a khaki WWI-era Australian Digger’s uniform with a necktie, but during most of his free time he walks around in flip-flops, bathing trunks and a t-shirt at the beach. If he was to visit another country the average ripped jeans, t-shirt and some kind of sneakers would be what he’d probably wear.

Parents/Guardians: I guess you can call Tristan his ‘Guardian’. Arthur raised him technically, but he scolded Bruce really much, even hitting him at times when he did something wrong which made Tristan, who’s a big softie when it comes to Bruce, step in and raise the boy behind the Britt’s back. He will always follow Tristan more than Arthur because of his childhood.

Siblings: Tristan/Wales, Arthur/England, Ian/Scotland, Jane/New Zealand and an adoptive little sister; Evie/Tasmania.

Friends/Allies: Good friends with Alfred and Matthew; He’s one of the few people that doesn’t forget about the Canadian.

Enemies: In some cases Arthur for putting him on that island and being horrible as a big brother, and he has a sibling rivalry with Jane/NZ.

Dream(s)/Life Goals: To not be so alone he has to depend on Jane for company.

Personality: He's optimistic and laidback, with a strong larrikin streak. He doesn't like to worry and can come across as careless and a little insensitive, but he's usually the first to jump in if anyone needs help.

Speech Patterns/Frequently Used Phrases: He, of course, speaks with an Australian dialect, using slang that can be pretty difficult to understand at times. His most common phrases being such as ‘Cheers’ and ‘Mate’.

Hobbies: Bruce spends a lot of time outdoors, at the beach, the Outback and in the city for work. He loves surfing, scuba-diving, hiking and other quite dangerous activities.

Likes: Taking care of his odd and dangerous creatures that he considers ‘cute’.

Loves: Having a Barbie, The Great Barrier Reef and his wildlife.

Dislikes: Having animals enter his country, or leaving it. He’s pretty strict on that.

Loathes: Losing to Arthur or Jane at ANYTHING, floods, cyclones and bushfire season.

Fears: Close in spaces where escape is impossible and losing people he cares about.

Fatal Flaw: Holding grudges... for example on Arthur.

Strengths: He can’t get poisoned because of all the venomous animals in his country. He is relatively strong, being a country/continent/island and all. He can find something good in everything. He is normally upbeat and a happy kind of person, not letting things worry him too much.

Weakness: Because of the heat and location, he often gets fevers during bushfire season which causes him to cough up smoke and become extremely vulnerable and weak. The occasional flooding that happens in the Northern part of Australia also causes him sickness, in the form of a cold. He’s a crappy liar, being too truthful at heart.

Good Qualities: He has a good sense of humor and is always there for friends and family... No matter what. Bruce doesn’t know it, but he’s a real hero… He doesn’t do things because he HAS to, but because it’s the right thing to do which is actually following Tristan’s example.

Bad Habits/Quirks: He procrastinates and a deadline just isn’t real to him until it’s staring him right in the face. His dialect is sometimes too difficult to understand. He can start talking about how someone died in his country, because of a snake bite then reassure you you’re safe and that it’s nothing to worry about. He’s not a morning person, being easily angered and annoyed.

Natural Talent(s): He is able to survive in critical conditions, such as extreme heat during the summer months seeing it’s about 45°C and completely dry. He has a good hand with animals; they can’t kill him or cause him too much pain as a result. After spending so much time around animals he can sense people’s feelings and emotions after their reaction, you can’t hide a secret from this guy without him finding out.

Weapon(s): Bruce has a pair of huge knives that are dipped in Julie’s venom; it kills absolutely anything it hits within seconds/minutes from the pain it causes, but no worries.

Pet(s): He has an ‘evil looking’ koala named Jack, an Inland Taipan (the most poisonous snake in the world) named Julie and a funelweb spider named Madeline.

Magic: He’s an elementalist; so he focuses on the four elements.
Water: He's an ISLAND, The Great Barrier Reef and the occasional flooding. No part of Australia is more than 1000 km from the ocean and a beach.
Fire: Extreme heat, desert and bushfires. One third of the country is desert. 70% of Australia gets less than 500 mm of rainfall per year.
Earth: Wildlife, caves/mines, nature and metals such as silver, gold and iron. 10% of the world’s gold.
Air: Cyclones, REALLY bad storms and lightning strikes. The Australian Alps, or Snowy Mountains as they are also known, receive more snow than Switzerland. Star gazing: under ideal viewing conditions, like in the Australian Outback, the naked eye can detect about 5,780 stars.

Background/History: Arthur discovered Bruce and as a result used his land as a place of imprisonment for thousands of convicts and prisoners, which the Aussie still hates and the fact he was just Arthur’s penal colony for thieves, murders and political prisoners. Growing up Bruce looked up to Arthur in the beginning, but said country was still recovering from the split with Alfred, and subsequently, much less doting a parent. Bruce seriously got treated like a convict while Jane was treated like a princess. Though still cared for, Bruce had less authority than Alfred had which amplified his mischievous attempts for Arthur's attention and respect. Eventually, Bruce became too rebellious, as he'd gone from hiding bugs in shoes to causing chaos. After the problems were solved Bruce would often get scolded until he started crying or getting locked in a closet... That's not scary, if you're not Claustrophobic which Bruce just happens to be. At times while being drunk Arthur would actually hit Bruce and treat him like a real convict even under the Aussie’s childhood, but the Britt doesn’t remember this. Tristan saved Bruce every change he got, keeping the boy safe and getting him out of the small closet when Arthur forgot about it… He often did this, sadly. Bruce has looked up to Tristan ever since, listening to everything his ‘Guardian’ said. In WW1 Bruce (along with Jane) readily answered Arthur's call for aid, but certain events over the course of the war caused Bruce's respect of Arthur to fade. During the Depression, he (along with Matthew, and Ludwig) was hit hard. He was almost completely reliant on exports of wheat and wool, which fell after the depression hit. This resulted in high unemployment and even incidents of civil unrest. Bruce went through a bit of a crisis at this point which caused him to "grow up" and start searching for his own identity and independence. When WW2 arrived he answered Arthur’s call again and they fought much better together this time around, but it got difficult when Kiku started attacking Bruce's house. After that he made it clear he wasn't going to depend on Arthur, and ended up asking Alfred for help instead.

Miscellaneous: He refuses to address Arthur as ‘big brother’, referring to him as ‘mum’ instead. If Arthur raises his hand as if to slap Bruce, the continent nation will flinch away and look terrified because of the mental damage it made on him. Arthur was always jealous of Bruce’s natural magic ability. Some of the top countries that Bruce exports goods to are Kiku, Alfred, Yao, Jane and Arthur. Kiku is the biggest importer of Bruce’s agricultural products, taking 18 percent of the output. It’s an interesting fact that compared to other countries; Bruce’s not a very heavy drinker. He smokes from time to time, depending on his economy.
